Welcome to MKM Cycles

“The Frames standards are set by”

Wes Mason.

Ron Kitching.

Arthur Metcalfe.

This website has been set up to try to trace all existing MKM, Wes Mason, Arthur Metcalfe, Ron Kitching and Steve Elsworth frames built in the 1970s and 1980s.

If you own any of these frames or know anyone who has one, if you visited Arthur or Wes at the Chapel Works, or if you visited Steve at Thorpe Arch Trading Estate at Wetherby, please contact us here.

MKM frames were regarded as some of the highest quality lightweight frames available at the time. For this reason, many were exported both badged and unbadged for resale around the globe. The USA and Canada had many frames sent and we are lucky to hear from many original US owners who still get joy from their original or reconditioned frames.

Our aim is to bring together owners and build on the existing frame register so that we can better understand where the remaining frames reside and share stories.

You may have an original - have just picked up a frame... maybe or have something you expect to be an MKM but are not quite sure. Either way please get in touch as it would be great to have a chat

"My Ultimate was a striking and absolutely beautiful frame. I was later inspired to learn how to build frames in the 80's because of the beauty and the craftsmanship of my Ultimate."
